Meet Alex - Scheduling & Logistics

Meet Alex - Scheduling & Logistics

Alessandro Iraci – Scheduling & Logistics

Alessandro (or Alex as he is known) has been with Edwards since 2015 in both Technical & Operations roles. He is currently responsible for running our schedule, ensuring crew and operators are on the right jobs at the right time. His spare time is spent playing many a musical instrument, body surfing, cooking or travelling with his wife.

If you could write your own job title that best describes what you do around here, what would it be?

Goalkeeper *Chuckles* but I manage the schedule. I make sure we have the right person for the right jobs, every time.

What gets you out of bed in the morning?

Music, my wife's need for coffee and the cat's need for food, but I fixed that one and bought an automatic feeder!

What were you doing on this day 10 years ago?

On this day?! I was getting ready to move from my home country of Italy to South East Asia. I wanted to give my life a shake up and a new challenge.

So you’ve seen a decent chunk of the world, tell us about your adventures...

I moved to South East Asia, to Northern Thailand to be specific, where I worked in IT for a German company. I stayed there for three years before making the move to Australia in 2014 where I gave dairy farming a go in Victoria on a farm with 1200+ cows! A quick visit back to Italy then onto New Zealand in 2015 where I have been ever since and was lucky enough to gain my residency in 2016. I even cast my first vote this year!

What was the pre-Edwards (person) like?

An aspiring muso, touring tech, just roaming about.

Fave memory of your time at Edwards so far?

That would be the day I got the job because it gave me an opportunity to make my life here in New Zealand.

Do you have a secret talent that no one knows about?

Absolutely no stage fright. Once I’m on stage I just go with it!

What makes you smile?

Kiwis dealing with Italian gestures.
