Who We Are

Edwards Sound is a 100% Kiwi-owned and operated business with a proud history stretching back to 1965. Based in Auckland, we started small and have grown into one of New Zealand's most trusted providers of professional sound, lighting, and AV solutions. With over 50 years under our belt, we bring a wealth of experience and a passion for delivering events and installations that work flawlessly.

Our home base is a 13,000 square foot facility in Penrose, filled with state-of-the-art sound, lighting and audiovisual equipment. If it exists, we probably have it—and if we don’t, we know where to get it. We're always happy to talk through your project ideas, and if you’d like to see the gear in action, we welcome you to book a visit to our in-house Demo Room.

Hire Services

Need to bring a live event to life? That’s what our Hire team does best. From corporate functions, weddings and conferences to sports days, community events, and live-streamed shows, we provide creative and technical solutions that suit your venue, audience and budget.

Our account managers are experienced, approachable, and here to help. We’ll walk you through your options and help tailor the ideal setup—whether it’s sound systems, lighting rigs, display screens, special effects, or a combination of all of them. We work with individuals, event organisers, wedding planners, community groups and major corporates alike.

Sales & Installation

We sell and install high-quality audio, visual and lighting equipment from the world's most trusted brands. Whether you're fitting out a school, church, conference room, hospitality venue, or retail space, our Commercial Sales team can guide you through the process from start to finish.

We represent leading international brands including DAS Audio, Chiayo Wireless, Antari, Aeromic, Fitness Audio, ITC Paging Systems, and Fenix Lifting Towers. With deep product knowledge and hands-on experience, our team works with you or your project team to design solutions that meet both your performance needs and your budget.

From wireless mic systems and paging system setups to fully integrated AV and control systems, we deliver solutions that are technically sound, reliable, and future-ready. Need help with the install? Our experienced team can handle it.

Repair & Service

We stand by what we supply. Our on-site service department includes electronic repair benches, woodworking and engineering facilities, and the ability to service everything we sell and hire. Whether it’s routine maintenance, troubleshooting, or a full refurbishment, we’ll keep your gear running reliably and safely.
