For mouldy houses, waiting room and public area virus and mould spore disinfection.
The AirGuard (by Antari) AG-20, AG-800, AG-1500 and AG-3000 anti-microbial (virus, mould, fungus and bacteria) disinfection fog machines are advanced "thermal foggers", designed especially to be used with the FLD and FLE disinfectant. They create an extremely fine fog of tiny particles (<2 micron 1µm= 1/1000mm) which will get everywhere in the area you are treating. Vapourised 'disinfecting fog' spreads to fill an entire space in every direction. Once the area has been filled with sanitizing fog leave it to settle for about 15-20 minutes, then ventilate the area before people reenter.
The fine particle size combined with the unique natural disinfectants are an extremely effective and safe indoor anti-microbial fog system.
Developed as a specialised fogging treatment for infection control and sanitation of both residential and commercial settings, it is more effective than wiping with rags or sponges which can actually contribute to cross-contamination by spreading germs from surface to surface. The fogging disinfectant does not need to be wiped off after treatment like traditional toxic disinfectants, as it safely breaks down. Originally marketed for use against Covid-19 and SARs, the sanitiser fluid we use is also tested and effective against bacteria, moulds and fungus such as Candida (which includes Candida auris) (See test results, P6)

The AG-20 and AG-800 are the lightweight, portable units. AG-20 incorporates powerful rechargeable batteries for totally wireless operation. AG-1500 is still portable at 11kg, but designed for larger rooms, and the AG-3000 is for venues and auditoria etc. Air Guard disinfection process involves fogging the entire space with the recommended FLD or FLE disinfectant to provide proper disinfection of surface areas, touch-points, and equipment. You can read about the science here.
The Air Guard fog treatment kills most fungi (mould, Candida etc), germs, viruses, dust mites and will get rid of odors effectively.
Note: It is tested and proven effective against the influenza virus and general pneumonia, and is listed on the US EPA website as effective against SARS-CoV-2. It has not been tested specifically against the COVID-19 coronavirus as samples are not currently available.
What is the active ingredient in FLD/FLE for sterilisation?
Umbelliferol, which is an effective antibacterial agent, is also a great steriliser and kills a variety of bacteria, yeast, fungi and viruses. It can also inhibit oxidation. The Antiviral agent is Thymol and is listed on the EPA website as meeting their criteria for use against SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Read more on the EPA criteria here.
Is the disinfection ingredient harmful to humans?
Umbelliferol is safe, the ratio of disinfection ingredients used is within the guidelines set by the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare.
How does the disinfectant work against a virus and fungus?
The FLD/E disinfectant works by denaturing the virus’ proteins, which makes it incapable of binding to human cells.
Is it safe for the environment?
It is made of all natural ingredients and is safe for the environment as well as for people. FLD05 has a "menthol and fruity" fragrance.
How long can Air guard disinfectants be stored?
FLD and FLE have a shelf life of 5 years and should be stored in a cool area out of direct sunlight. Once opened, it should be used within 6 months.
How much smoke is required and how long does it take? i.e. What size room /area will the anti-viral Air Guard disinfectant machines treat?
AG-20 will fill a 28 cubic meter space in 1 minute, 84 cubic meters in 3 minutes. An elevator would take about 25 seconds.
AG-800 can fill a 240 cubic meter classroom in about ten minutes, or a small 35 cubic meter office in about 70 seconds (say 1 minute) or a large office in 2 minutes... If disinfecting a car with AG-20 or 800, turn the air conditioner to recycle and use for 30 seconds at a time. An elevator would take about 25 seconds.
AG-1500 will fill a 240 cubic meter classroom in 3 minutes, or a small 35 cubic meter office in 10 seconds and is suitable for up to 2500~3000 cubic meter areas, taking about 10 minutes to fill 1000 cubic meters, or about 3~4 seconds for an average elevator.
AG-3000 will fill a 240 cubic meter classroom in 1 minute, and about 1500 cubic meters in just over 5 minutes
Calculate the room volume (roughly +/- 10%) to determine the duration of fogging required for Air Guard treatment.
Room length x width x ceiling height (in meters) = volume cubic meters. e.g. 5 x 6 meters with a 2.4mtr ceiling =72 cubic meters
The AG-800 and AG-20 produces about 30 cubic meters in a minute (.5 cubic mtr of smoke per second)
The AG-1500 output is 80 cubic meters per minute, AG-3000 about 260 cubic meters per minute
For our example room: 72 cubic meters (5 x 6 meters with a 2.4mtr ceiling)
AG-800/AG-20 72 / .5 seconds = 144 seconds (2.4 minutes)
AG-1500 72 / 1.5 seconds = 48 seconds
AG-3000 72 / 5 seconds = 15 seconds
Is there a simple way to check that I am using the right amount of disinfectant fog?
Yes, it is simple - calculate the cubic room size (L x W x H) and check the chart for approximate run-time required.
How long does the treatment last?
This depends on the environmental conditions, such as ventilation and amount of human movement and foot-traffic.
For example, disinfection in a car for personal use can be effective for 2 weeks, however a car used frequently for business should be disinfected each day.
In general the more occupied a location is, the more frequently it should be disinfected.
Note: The machine itself has no sterilisation function, it is the Air Guard liquid that provides the sterilisation. The sterilisation provided by these "vaporisation" smoke machines is completely different from ozone machines or air cleaners. The Air Guard machines combined with FLD anti-microbial sanitising fluid process is one of the most effective treatments available in the world.
One significant advantage of Air Guard fog over other types of thermal and ULV foggers is that the sanitiser molecules produced are extremely fine (<2 micron), and according to the manufacturer, can also actively deal with the virus in the air. Also, the fog penetrates into nooks and crannies that larger droplet sprayers (e.g. ULV) can’t. The fine particle size combined with the unique natural disinfectant are an extremely effective and safe indoor anti-microbial fog system
