About these speakers
The Convert 15A uses D.A.S. Audio's transducer components for wide frequency range and impressive output, and the D.A.S. 15GNR4 loudspeaker, a 15" device incorporating a 102 mm (4") voice coil and a light-weight neodymium magnet assembly, for low frequency reproduction. D.A.S. Audio's Array Coupling Device (ACD) helps with coupling between adjacent units when used in curved source arrays.
The M-60N neodymium compression driver is designed to handle high frequency reproduction. The driver's 44 mm (1.75") voice coil is made using copper clad aluminum flat wire attached to a urea polyamide diaphragm. Three M-60N units are attached to the new BPS-320 dSERPIS trifunctional waveguide for optimum coherency as a horizontal or vertical curved source array or as a point source.
The Convert 15A's integrated electronics include digital signal processing, component and amplifier protection and a new 2000 W, three channel Class D amplifier with switch mode power supply (SMPS).
The EVENT-218A dual 18” powered subwoofer makes use of one of DAS´s most acclaimed loudspeakers, the LX series long excursion transducers which were introduced in the high-level LX-218. The enclosure is designed for horizontal use, built using quality Birch plywood, finished with the ISO-flex coating and has a pole mount socket on the upper panel.
The power amplifier provides 3600 Wpeak power and offers features found on the more expensive LX subwoofers such as the Cardioid Preset mode switch which offers specific signal treatment for easy set-up of pairs of systems in cardioid subwoofer applications. The system includes two balanced inputs (A-B) with stereo HPF (100 Hz) filtered output connections for satellite systems. Defeating the HPF filter offers stereo “loop thru” connections. The variable LPF crossover ranges from 80 Hz-125 Hz. A gain control and polarity reverse feature increase user control over the system.
