The hire range covers every layer of a professional lighting rig. Variable white LED fresnels for broadcast-safe key lighting and stage wash. All LED fixtures in the hire fleet are selected for broadcast compatibility. The F300WWMZ warm white fresnel runs at 8,000Hz PWM — the highest in the fleet and effectively flicker-free at any camera frame rate. The variable white fresnels (F96VW and F200VW) run at 1,200Hz with 16-bit dimming and CRI 95+, safe for video recording, livestreaming, and photography. If the event involves a camera of any kind, such as professional broadcast, in-house recording, a live stream, a PTZ conference camera, or a Zoom call, and the Edwards team can advise on the right fixtures and colour temperature matching for the application.

School productions and auditoriums. Two or three LED fresnels cover most school hall stages adequately and the improvement over standard house lighting is significant for both the live audience and any recording. Simple DMX packages with an integrated controller are easy for a teacher or parent volunteer to operate confidently.

Corporate presentations and conferences. Front wash fresnels at 45 degrees from each side of the stage, matched to the camera's white balance and barn-doored to avoid spilling onto the projection screen, give a presenter the kind of professional illumination that makes a difference on camera and in the room. Variable white fixtures allow colour temperature to be adjusted on the day to suit the venue and the camera.

Livestreaming and hybrid events. Any event with a camera needs lighting designed for the camera, not just the room. Edwards stocks broadcast-safe fixtures with confirmed PWM frequencies and variable colour temperature for matching any camera white balance. The team can advise on simple single-fresnel Zoom setups through to fully produced streaming rigs.

Theatre and live performance. A professional lighting rig for theatre uses front wash fresnels for general illumination, profile spotlights for specials and key positions, a cyc or backdrop wash for colour and atmosphere, and moving heads or effects for dynamic moments. Edwards has the fixtures and controllers for all of it, from a school drama production to a professional run.

Photography and video production. CRI 95+ variable white fresnels and profile spotlights provide accurate, controllable continuous light for product photography, portrait work, video shoots, and interview setups. Fanless options eliminate fan noise from audio tracks.

Do you offer theatre lighting rental for short-term hire?

Yes. Single-night event hires, multi-day production runs, and longer term hires for multi-week theatre seasons are all available. Contact the hire team to discuss your dates and requirements.

Can I book audio and lighting as a complete package?

Yes, and it is often the most practical approach. Edwards covers both sound and lighting, so a single call produces a quote for a complete production package — PA system, microphones, lighting rig, and any additional AV requirements — without needing to coordinate multiple suppliers.

Does my event qualify for broadcast lighting advice?

If there is a camera present at the event in any form — professional broadcast, in-house recording, live stream, conference camera, or Zoom — it qualifies. The camera type does not change the lighting requirements. Can someone set up and operate the lighting on the day?

Yes. A self-collect approach works well for straightforward packages such as the STAGEW1200, where everything is included and the setup is designed to be manageable without specialist knowledge. For more complex rigs, high-ceiling hanging positions, or events where the lighting needs to be right first time without adjustment, an Edwards technician can deliver, install, focus, and operate the lighting for the event. How much notice do I need to book?

For standard packages, a few days notice is usually sufficient for most dates. For larger productions, events with specific fixture requirements, or peak periods, earlier booking is recommended to ensure availability.
