New Two-Way Tour Guide System
On show was their new 2.4G Two-Way tour guide system. Rather than just present to tour groups, the new two-way system allows the tour participants to easily interact with the guide and ask questions. The visitor simply presses a button to communicate with the guide and other members of the party, without needing to raise their voice. It’s a bit like a walkie talkie but shorter range.
Impressive Features
The DCT-511/DCR-511 also impressed us with its other features including an operation range of 30+ metres; no limit to the number of receivers; automatic frequency hopping over the 80MHz range to maximise use of the available spectrum and avoid interference; encryption against misuse; a mic-mix-line switch that allows the broadcast of speech, music or both at the same time; a smart notification system triggered when a user is out of range; built-in rechargeable lithium batteries with a universal mini-USB charging port and the availability of a 20-unit charging base. Charging time is only 3.5 hours. Transmitter battery life is approximately 10 hours and the battery life of the mini receiver is approximately 16 hours.
Chiayo told us that the combination of simple two-way comms and lightweight transmitters were proving popular not only in the tourism sector but also in the restaurant industry.
